Add a New Grillcraft Grill and Look Great
Have you noticed that you can sometimes tell the brand of a car just from the appearance of its grill? Just think. One item on the entire car and it speaks volumes. What other distinctive feature on a car helps define the brand? The wide oval of an early Ferrari grill, the kidney shape of a BMW grill, the narrow oval grill with horizontal bars that distinguish an Aston Martin grill, or the stately vertical bars topped by the flying lady on a Rolls Royce grill, all give these brands their distinctive look.
- Each one of these manufactures wants a unique look for their cars. The first thing you usually see on a car is the front end, and the grill plays a dominant role in how the car looks. So if you want to have your car look unique one of the places you can start is by replacing your factory grill with an aftermarket grill.
- Depending upon the brand of car you have you may have a wide variety of grill choices or just a few. Aftermarket car manufactures make their decision on what to build based on how many they can sell. Part of this is of course how many cars of a particular model or trim level were produced. But even more important is how many owners are into modifying their cars. If few people are interested in changing the appearance of their cars, then you will have few choices in finding a grill if you own one of these.
- You may also have a wide variety of styles and materials or a very limited choice. Again it's based on the potential number of sales a manufacturer can anticipate.
- Remember that a grill plays two different roles on a car. The original grill role was to protect the interior of the engine compartment from debris entering the car and damaging or destroying parts of your engine. A stray rock could punch a hole in your radiator and this could lead to an engine failure. Some cars have fans in front of the radiator and these would be easily damaged by objects sucked into the car.
- The second role for a grill is one of style. It may be of a unique design, material or even color. Early cars were known for their grills and the materials that they used. As cars matured the materials and styles started to look more alike.
- As time goes on it is becoming harder and harder to tell different brands or models apart. A quick glance at the front of a car may not identify it for you any longer. So if you have one of these un distinguishable cars, changing your grill to something unique will bring you closer to the days when cars really were different and an owner could express part of their personality by what type of vehicle they were driving.
